Day 2- Exploring The City

Powering through our jet lag we decided to spend the day exploring the landmarks of Hong Kong starting with the famous Hong Kong landmark- ‘The Peak’.

The Peak is built on part of the Victoria Peak Mountain and arguably offers the best and most scenic view of the city. We decided to take the bus to the Peak and enjoyed the views along the way.

Many escalator rides later we arrived at the top of the Peak. However, our time enjoying the view was cut short when we were given Amber weather warnings- everyone was asked to go inside.

Some students decided to visit the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin temple located in central Hong Kong. The temple is one of the most famous temples in Hong Kong and is home to three religions- Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism.

Later on in the evening, students attended a walking tour of Hong Kong delivered by the University of Nottingham Alumni. The walking tour was our chance to experience the city on foot as we visited the city’s famous markets and explored Hong Kong street art.
